Provocation Instructions
Certain toxins are associated with cognitive decline. I test for them when starting people on ReCODE. One action these toxins have on the body is to shut down the very system that helps us clear them, thereby causing an ever increasing level of the toxins in the body. If the detoxification system is shut down, then there may be no evidence of toxin in the urine. This could falsly lead us to believe that there are no toxins present. To prevent this, I ask you to do a provocation before collecting urine for your Mosaic Labs mycotoxins test. Provocation can be one of the following:
Hot sauna or bath for 30 min. If you feel unwell, get out of the bath or sauna and collect your sampl
Glutathione 500 mg twice a day for a week. If you start to feel unwell on glutathione, stop taking them and collect your specimen
The provocation could make you feel unwell if you have high toxin loads which are normally sequestered in the liver and fat, but released into the general circulation by the provocation.
This protocol is based on that suggested by Dr. Neil Nathan and endorsed by Dr. Dale Bredesen.
